Methods for solving Allligation and Mixture Problems

For solving the alligation and mixture problems, We can use the formula

(n1/n2) = (A2 - Af)/(Af-A1)

where,

n1 is the quantity of A1
n2 is the quantity of A2
A1 is the  average of the first quantity
A2 is the average of the second quantity
and Af is the average of the resultant quantity

The Above Equation can also be written as

n1(Af - A1) = n2(A2 - A1)

or (Af - A1)/ n2 = (A2 - A1)/n1

A trick to remember alligation formula is to use diagram

Here,
We can remember the rule as,
Move from A2 to A1 via Af.
And for the two terms subtract the ending point from the starting point.
For the first move, subtract Af from A1 and we will get the first term as A2 - Af and write this term on the bottom right.
For the second move, subtract A1 from Af and we will get the second term and write this term on the left.
Now, for the denominator part, look at the term on the top. If its A2 write N2 at the bottom and if its A1 write the term n1 at the bottom.

Using of this method you can get straight to the problem.
